The editorial and political cartoonist uses a drawing to offer a level of political or social commentary. By using exaggerated features or juxtaposition of characters, the cartoonist can praise or, usually, satirize a current prominent figure or position. The editorial cartoonist has been around as long as there have been newspapers and other publications and in 1922, the top cartoonist started to receive the annual Pulitzer Prize. We will select a cartoonist from the U.S. or elsewhere in the world and explore how well they expressed their opinions through drawings.
